RULES AND REGULATIONS

• The Format is 18 Hole Better Ball Stableford Points off ¾ handicap for all games.
• White Tees Men/ Red Tees Ladies.
• In all circumstances, Men play off the Men's Stroke Index and Ladies play off the Ladies Stroke Index.
• Competitors must be over 18 years of age as at the end of November 2008
• Must have a current recognised CONGU handicap: - Men 24, Ladies 36
• Must have played in at least 3 club qualifiers between May 2007 and June 2008.
• NO buggies are allowed unless medical dispensation has been given by the Tournament Director
• No distance finders are to be used within this tournament.
• If players are from different clubs, then a home course must be stated. This home course can only be changed with prior agreement by the Tournament Director.
• In the case of an emergency with evidence provided of the reason for withdrawal , it may be possible to replace a player with the same or similar handicap. However, this cannot be done without prior agreement from the Tournament Director.
• On receipt of your details, please contact your opposite numbers to arrange your matches.
• You must offer at least 3 dates with 2 of these being at a weekend.
• You must play the games by the PLAY BY Date. There will be NO EXTENSIONS. If the game is not played by the PLAY BY Date, both pairs will be disqualified.
• There will be a maximum of 4 rounds before the National Final.
• Players will be placed in groups of no more than 16 pairs per group according to location. All draws are computerised with a full group draw sent with your first round.
• In the FIRST ROUND only, teams will play HOME and AWAY - 36 Holes - with both scores counting as a total score. Each pair must contact the other to arrange mutual dates for both games.
• Courtesy of the course is often given but in the case where it is not, we suggest you share the fees at the guest rate.
• Current handicap certificates MUST be produced at each match. The game is not to commence unless both parties are in agreement. If you cannot agree, please contact the Tournament Director.
• In the event of a tie, countback will take place. Back 9, 6, 3 and 1.
• In the FIRST ROUND  only, the countback system is taken from the 2^nd Leg as stated on the draw sheet.
• If a match is started from the 10^th Hole, countback will take place on the BACK NINE of the card.
• Please ensure that we receive your result by the Play By Date.
• The winning pair of each match must send the signed match result to the Tournament Office either by fax, e-mail or post. To ensure that your result is received, you may phone in your result at any time.
• Qualifying rounds will be played during June through to October 2008. A National Final will be held in October 2008 at  a top class course in the UK.
• In the event, that a pair fails to show up for an arranged match, the pair will be disqualified and the other pair will go through to the next round. However, allowances should be made for lateness due to traffic problems.
• Any team failing to comply with these RULES will be disqualified.
• In the event that play is not possible at either National or Grand Finals, the Tournament Director reserves the right to settle the competition in any way deemed fit.
• If a pair is abusive, conducts themselves in an unprofessional way or does not abide by these rules, the Tournament Director can disqualify a pair at any time throughout the tournament.
• If a pair cannot make the Grand Final, the prize will be offered to the next qualifying pair at the National Final.
• Friends, relatives, supporters can travel to the Grand Final and be accommodated entirely at their own expense. The organisers have arranged special rates. Interested parties should contact the Tournament Director.
