The choice is yours.
Competition Golf in the winter
keeps the momentum going. After running the
leagues for 5 years, we have now decided to
run the competition as a League or a knockout
event.
The choice is yours.
The league is £100 for a maximum of 4
league games
while the knockout format is only £70 per
team. Whichever format you decide to enter,
there will be National Finals in the North
and South of the UK with the qualifying
teams going through to the Grand
Finals in
Austria playing at outstanding
golf courses with luxury accommodation during
8th - 13th September
2009.

Grand Finals
There are seperate Mens and Ladies events and we would like you to enter a team
of four golfers from among your golfing
friends, either from your club or elsewhere.
You must however, state where you will base
your home course ( 2 reserves will be
allowed throughout the tournament.

Once
your team has been entered, we will put
your team in either a league of a maximum
of 5 teams
OR in a group of a maximum of 8 teams
local to your area with a maximum of 3
knockout rounds which will be played from
December 2008 to June 2009.
You will play another team in your group
or league with
2 players playing at home with the other
two players playing at the away
venue.
The format is BETTER BALL STABLEFORD
off 3/4 handicap with
the score from each pair (home and away) added together to
create a team score. The team with the most
points will go forward through to the next
round in the knockout whereas in the league
you will score league points as follows:

Fixture Win 2 points
Fixture Draw 1 point
and then BONUS POINTS of
Home Pair Win 2 points
Away Pair Win 3 points
Draw Home/Away 1 point .

In
the league, the home pair and the away
pair do not have to play on the same date. The
only rule is that both matches must be played
by the "PLAY BY" date. However, in the
knockout format, the home pair and the away
pair MUST play on the same date to alleviate
any advantage and must be played by the "PLAY
BY" date. Courtesy of the course is often
given, however in the event it is not, we
suggest you share the fees at the guests'
rate.

The
winners of each league or each knockout
group will automatically
go through to the UK Nationals Finals,
one in the South of England and one in the
North during July 2009. All National finals
will be held at first class venues where dinner
and golf is complimentary.
The
qualifying teams at the National Finals will win
a place to Austria for the Grand Finals
during September 2009.
Your
prize will consist of Return flights
(excluding luggage and golfclub carriage), 5
nights accommodation on a Bed and Breakfast
Basis, Welcome Drink, 3 Rounds of Competition
Golf, Transfers while in Austria and a Gala
Dinner with awards for all the Grand Finalists
on the last evening.
